Our second Kenya offering of the 2018 season, Kenya Thunguri AB comes to us from the Rumukia Farmer’s Cooperative Society (FCS) which consists of 8 cooperative factories located just north of the border between Nyeri and Murang’a counties.
The Rumukia cooperative society has the advantage of owning their own dry milling facility at the Thunguri wet mill where they receive and process cherry from members of Thunguri coop and also mill and sort all of the dry parchment coffee delivered by the other seven member factories.
In addition to their wet/dry mill facilities, FCS has a cupping lab staffed with experienced cupper which is extraordinary among cooperative societies in Kenya. All of these added infrastructure pieces ensures and additional level of quality feedback which gives members of Rumukia FCS a huge advantage in the marketplace.
