Many of our neighborhood and regular customers have inquired about local pickup as a shipping option. After exploring the logistics of this, the reality is we just can’t support this option at this time. Thank you for your understanding.
We are offering Free Shipping for all orders over $40 nationwide. Please stock up, brew, repeat!
We are asking for your immediate help via our GoFundMe page.
The COVID-19 public health crisis is real and already reeking havoc on small businesses across our country. Plowshares Coffee in New York City is one of those small businesses. In order to slow transmission of COVID-19, it is inevitable that we must suspend business operations for an indefinite amount of time to limit our exposure to one another in order to keep our employees and community safe, and help flatten the transmission curve to protect the greater health care system.
This of course comes at enormous personal cost for us as business owners and the members of our team who are the face of our business. No revenue coming in to pay employees, vendors, rent, health insurance, is simply not part of the playbook. With the lack of accessible and realistic public resources available to assist small businesses to weather this crisis, we are reaching out to the greater community for your immediate help and support. We are committed to serving our local community and we plan to come out on the other side of this crisis stronger and with even greater resolve. We are asking your help to provide some relief for our employees during this time and help us reopen once the storm has passed. Any contribution you can make will make a tangible impact on realizing this goal.
In light of the current and mounting threat for staff and public safety, we have made the difficult decision to close our cafes immediately in order to support city wide efforts to stop the spread of COVID-19.
Some challenging days are surely ahead and the financial damage to our business and staff will be tremendous, but we are committed to coming out stronger on the other side to serve you in the near future. In the interim we are asking for your help to keep the lights on and get the doors open as quickly as possible when we get the all clear.
We are still roasting coffee in Harlem so please buy lot’s of beans online (while you are here) for home delivery while you social distance.

At Plowshares we have partnered with GoGoGuest to implement a managed Wifi solution for our cafes.
At our Harlem location at 1351 Amsterdam Avenue we offer 3 hours of free WiFi with a purchase. If you need more then 3 hours, we ask that you make a small purchase to get another 3 hours of WiFi after your initial term expires.
Our Upper West Side location is tiny by comparison with only a few tables so we offer more limited WiFi during non peak hours. Weekday’s WiFi is available after 11:30 AM, and you get 1 hour with your purchase. Saturday and Sunday are our busiest days so WiFi availability begins a little later at 1PM.
Please ask for a receipt or choose email receipt if you would like use our WiFi – you will need it for the receipt code.
We have just added our new coffee subscription program to the website which now gives you, our lovely customer, more control over your delivery options.
Just click the subscription link in our top navigation menu to see your options. Please feel free to send us feedback through our contact form!
