Description
Kigwandi
This delicious Kenya Auction lot comes to us through our friends at Falcon Coffees!
Founded in 2004, The Mutheka Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) operates seven washing stations and consists of more than 6000 active farmer members across Nyeri county in central Kenya.
Utilizing hydroelectric power from the nearby Kagumo River, the Kigwandi washing station services 900 of the areas smallholder farmers whose coffee cherries are collected, delivered and combined together to produce extraordinary coffees that regularly win awards for cup quality in local competitions.
This coffee is dry fermented in tanks for 48 hours, followed by 24 hours of water fermentation before being washed of its mucilage and dried for 2-3 weeks.
In the cup we’re tasting dense fruit and bergamot. A classically delicious washed Kenyan coffee.
