Description

We are proud to offer this vibrant washed coffee from Querocoto, Cajamarca, grown by Jose Humberto Estela Vasquez on his farm, El Eucalipto.  This lot offers a comforting and refined cup with notes of praline, dark honey, and baked apple, supported by high-elevation growing conditions and careful post-harvest processing.

Jose Humberto Estela Vasquez began producing coffee five years ago and has built his work around agroforestry, growing coffee in relationship with shade trees that help protect the soil and surrounding ecosystem. His farm sits in Querocoto, a distinctive high-altitude area of Cajamarca where coffee is a relatively recent crop, but one that has already shown exceptional promise.

A defining feature of this region is its deep respect for native flora, especially the quina tree, which provides shade and organic matter for coffee production. Local producers combine strong farming knowledge with community-based labor traditions, creating coffees that reflect both environmental care and a growing culture of quality.
